In many areas the month of August is a slow down month  (except for our clients). A lot of people are away on vacations. You can come up for air from the Spring/Summer projects & spend some time with your own family.

It's also a great month to start planning and gearing up for the Fall season and to get a jump start on your marketing, advertising and closing efforts for early next year.

I've always said that if you want to get the same results, simply do what you've been doing.

Things have changed for your prospects and customers.  Now is NOT the time simply to Re-Double your past efforts and hope that what you did before is going to continue to work today.

If you're ready to get on track. if you KNOW that within your business you have the right ingredients for sales success, you can call me for a no nonsense business review. I will ask you to provide information about your business. Like a doctor I need to know what the issues are before I can provide a diagnosis. Don't worry about a sales pitch, I don't work that way.

There are lots of FREE resources on our site. Check them out and make a commitment to put at least one idea in action every week this month.

Here is an easy one: make a date to have food or drinks with a key referral source this week. Don't do it to sell. Do it to thank them for their past business and ask how you can help them.

A smart flooring guy I know gets a lot of business from one of our clients, a home remodeling company. This is a natural referral source. Guess what, instead of only "taking" business,  he works extra hard to get the home remodeling guy opportunities and he does. He sees that as insurance. If the home remodeler knows that this relationship isn't just a one-way street you can be that ALL his flooring work will go to the guy that is referring him business.
